Shedding the Stigma Surrounding Cosmetic Surgery

I'm on a personal mission to get rid of the stigma that still surrounds cosmetic surgery in many regions. Why am I on this mission? A small surgery changed my life, and I have never regretted it. I was a very shy child with little confidence due to my protruding ears. It sounds like such a small problem to many people, but it affected me and my self esteem greatly. I saved up in high school while working a part-time job, and as soon as I could afford it, I got my parents to agree to let me have my ears "pinned back" when I was 16. My confidence skyrocketed immediately, and I finally began enjoying life for the first time. I want to help others facing similar problems know that they are not alone, and I hope I can touch many lives with my new blog!

Understanding The Terms Associated With Cosmetic Gynecology

Blog

If you are interested in having a cosmetic procedure in your vaginal area and are planning to schedule a consultation appointment with a cosmetic gynecologist, then you will be soon be exposed to the many new terms used today in the cosmetogynecology field. It is important that you have an understanding about each of these new terms so that you can speak with your doctor about the procedures right for your unique needs. To this end, here is a list of the most common terms, and their meanings, that you may hear from your cosmetic gynecologist when you address your medical concerns with them:

Clitoral Hood Reduction and Clitoroplasty Procedures: The surgical procedure known as a clitoral head reduction is used to reduce the amount of loose skin that is present around your clitoris. The excess skin is removed for cosmetic reasons and also because it will improve your clitoral sensitivity during sexual activities. In contrast, the clitoroplasty procedure is performed to decrease the amount of skin present on the clitoris itself. This surgical procedure is used to enhance the look of the clitoris and also to reduce sensitivity.

Labiaplasty Procedures:  Labiaplasty procedures are those where the labia major or labia minor are reduced in size by removing their outer skin. These procedures are often performed on women who have excessively long labia skin that hangs down too far.

Publis Lift Procedure: The pubis lift procedure is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat tissues around the pubis above your vagina. This procedure is often necessary for women who have lost a lot of weight and have sagging skin in the pubic area that cannot be tightened with exercise.

Vaginoplasty: Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure where your cosmetic gynecologist repairs any vaginal damage that you suffered during the birth of your children, and then the vagina is tightened by surgically stitching it up tighter than it previously was. Vaginoplasty surgery is popular with women who have had multiple children via vaginal births. As the vagina stretches with each subsequent birthing of the children, it becomes less elastic and less able to shrink back down to its original size and shape. This excessive stretching can cause issues with sexual activity. The procedure has been in existence for a long time and is one of cosmetogynecology's most performed procedure today.
