Shedding the Stigma Surrounding Cosmetic Surgery

I'm on a personal mission to get rid of the stigma that still surrounds cosmetic surgery in many regions. Why am I on this mission? A small surgery changed my life, and I have never regretted it. I was a very shy child with little confidence due to my protruding ears. It sounds like such a small problem to many people, but it affected me and my self esteem greatly. I saved up in high school while working a part-time job, and as soon as I could afford it, I got my parents to agree to let me have my ears "pinned back" when I was 16. My confidence skyrocketed immediately, and I finally began enjoying life for the first time. I want to help others facing similar problems know that they are not alone, and I hope I can touch many lives with my new blog!

How To Properly Apply Sunless Tanner

Blog

That beautiful summer glow is something we all strive for, but it's no longer safe to lay in the sun with cooking oil on your body in an attempt to "bake" your skin. This is where sunless tanners come in, they are safe for your skin and some contain SPF to help protect your skin even further from the sun's harmful rays. You end up with that beautiful summer glow without the use of the sun. If you are trying to achieve this summer glow using sunless tanner, there are a few things you should know in order to apply it properly. Read on for instructions to apply your sunless tanner properly.

Exfoliate Your Skin

By exfoliating your skin first, you are getting rid of the dead skin cells that can prevent the sunless tanner from going on smoothly and naturally. Exfoliate the skin using a loofah or a body brush. You can do so when your skin is dry or wet. Be sure to pay close attention to areas such as the knees, elbows, and ankles/heels where the skin s usually the driest. Clean your skin thoroughly to be sure you have removed all of the dead skin cells, and make sure your skin is completely dry before applying the sunless tanner.

Work In Sections

Begin applying the sunless tanning product on one portion of the body, such as both arms, working the sunless tanner into the skin evenly. Wash your hands, then apply in the next section of the skin, such as the neck and torso. Move in smaller sections of the body, making sure you are applying it evenly and washing your hands in between each section so you are applying just the right amount on each portion to make it even.

Blend The Sunless Tanner

If you aren't applying it to your hands or feet, be sure you blend in the tanner at the wrists and ankles so you don't have such a big contrast from your arms/legs to your hands/feet. You can blend it by diluting the tanner in these areas with water. The same goes if you aren't applying the sunless tanner to your face, blend it in at the neck so there isn't too much of a contrast.

Allow Time For The Tanner To Dry

Be sure to give your skin time to dry after applying sunless tanner. If you don't, it could end up rubbing off on your clothing, which can also leave streaks or odd markings on your body where the sunless tanner wiped off. Be sure to allow enough time for it to dry thoroughly and read through the manufacturer's instructions for drying time.

If you are using sunless tanner, be sure to follow the instructions given by the manufacturer to ensure it adheres properly and gives you a beautiful glow that you are trying to achieve without leaving streaks or other markings.
