Shedding the Stigma Surrounding Cosmetic Surgery

I'm on a personal mission to get rid of the stigma that still surrounds cosmetic surgery in many regions. Why am I on this mission? A small surgery changed my life, and I have never regretted it. I was a very shy child with little confidence due to my protruding ears. It sounds like such a small problem to many people, but it affected me and my self esteem greatly. I saved up in high school while working a part-time job, and as soon as I could afford it, I got my parents to agree to let me have my ears "pinned back" when I was 16. My confidence skyrocketed immediately, and I finally began enjoying life for the first time. I want to help others facing similar problems know that they are not alone, and I hope I can touch many lives with my new blog!

Can A Med Spa Appointment Get Rid Of Fat?

For years, if you had unwanted fat on your body, there were two ways to get rid of it. You could diet and exercise, or you could undergo liposuction. These are still options, of course, but if dieting has not allowed you to drop pounds and you don't want invasive liposuction, there are now other options you can consider. Here are a few of them.

Laser Fat Reduction

If you just have some small pockets of unwanted fat in little areas like under your chin or along your neck, then laser fat reduction may be right for you. This procedure uses a low-powered laser to target your fat cells. Unlike some other procedures that simply cause the fat cells to release their fat, laser fat reduction actually kills the fat cells. As a result, the results are long-lasting and generally permanent. There is some discomfort afterward, and the treated area will often be red and irritated for a few days. Results can be dramatic, but it sometimes takes a couple of sessions to reduce fat substantially. Common areas to have laser fat reduction performed include the chin, back, and inner thighs.

RF Treatments

RF stands for radio frequency. These treatments use radio waves to basically vibrate your fat cells to the point that they start releasing fat. The treatment also stimulates your skin to produce more collagen, which is a protein that makes it toned and taut. As such, RF treatments tend to be effective at managing cellulite, along with unwanted fat. These treatments are not painful, although the treated area may be a little sore afterward. RF treatment is commonly used on the thighs, buttocks, and even the abdominal region.

Cooling Procedures

Another option for fat reduction is cooling procedures, also known as cryo procedures. These procedures involve the use of a special applicator tool, which selectively freezes your fat cells while leaving other cells alone. The frozen, dead fat cells are slowly broken down and excreted from your body in the days that follow. Cooling procedures are best for patients who have bulges or pockets of fat to reduce. They work well for love handles, fat on the upper arms, and back fat. The results take a few weeks to develop after treatment, but they can be quite dramatic.

You no longer have to undergo invasive treatments to reduce fat on your body. Consider one of these alternative fat loss solutions instead.
